Postdoctoral Researchers
Postdoc positions are available depending on timing and availability of funding. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and a recent graduate with a PhD or MD/PhD degree with strong academic training in microbiology or cancer.
Requirements:
• Two expected publications in a PubMed indexed journal
• Research experience in molecular biology, in microbiology or cancer fields
• Proven track record of troubleshooting and problem solving
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple projects in and bring projects to completion
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Willingness to learn new approaches and techniques
• Collaborative approach to science

Graduate students
Graduate students can join the lab after acceptance to the UCI CMB graduate program. Please email Dr. Burke to learn about rotating. For questions about CMB, please email program administrators.
In exceptional circumstances, we can direct admit graduate students into the lab; however this is contingent on funding. Please contact Dr. Burke if you are interested in a direct admit position.
Undergraduate students
Students who are interested in participating in the lab must meet the following requirements:
Minimum time commitment: 1 academic year
Minimum number of hours: 8 hrs/wk, no less than 4 hours per block
Minimum GPA: 3.0

High School Students
We are unable to accept high school student interns outside of structured research programs. UCI hosts two summer research experiences that allow training in the lab for high schoolers. Please apply if interested.
